The Derby

The Elder's Quorum in our ward held a pinewood derby competition, after the scouts this year. Beetle was more than excited to participate.

He modeled his pinewood derby after one of the cars he drove in high school.
A 1967 MG MGB GT

Beetle's Derby wasn't the fastest, but by far the best looking!

Maxwell was loving life this night. He thought daddy's car was his and was waiting at the end of the track every race to pick it up and take it to Beetle.

Before we know it our boys will be racing pinewood derby's of their own, but for now I prefer a Derby like this.

My Dad the Grad!

Here comes the most recent college grad in the Shoell fam,

My Dad! I am so proud of him for accomplishing one of his major goals.

My Dad is such a hard worker and will never give up on anything.

College Graduation is definitely worthy of a proud frown.

The Grand kid fan club, they were all proud of Grandpa too! Good Job Dad!

Mommy Luau

Benson's kindergarten glass had a Mothers Day luau a couple of weeks ago.
There is nothing like going to a school program and seeing your child spot you in the crowd, I loved it. He sang a cute Hawaiian song with his class and even added an "echo" to all the words sang.

We luau-ed for a while and then had banana splits. I really wish I could have recorded us dancing, Benson got so in to it!
This is my Mothers Day gift. I'll have to admit I was a little surprised to open it and see that he had drawn Dad standing by him. Benson looked at it with me, slapped his hand on his head and said "Oh No! I forgot to give you long hair!" I loved it so much and it made me smile even more. I love this boy and his smiling eyes!

Easter

I can't take credit for this very cute Easter dress, thanks Aunt Marianne!

Such photogenic Smart girls(:

Annabelle not wasting any time at Grandpa and Grandma Smart's Easter egg hunt, she was after the golden egg with $10.00 inside.
Annabelle holding her golden egg.
*If your ever going to an Easter egg hunt, be sure to invite Great Grandma Phyl-Phyl. She's really good at finding golden eggs and then telling you where they are hidden.

This guy was just happy to be outside, sitting on Grandma's lap,

or laying on his blanket, playing with his Easter bag.

I wish I could have taken a picture with all of our kids together, but it just didn't happen. After seeing this next picture I also wish I would have given Maxwell a haircut BEFORE Easter, but obviously that didn't happen either. Maxwell spent most of his Easter evening sleeping, he had a busy day running around at church! This is what he looked like when we tried waking him up for the egg hunt.
I think I'm tired now.

Easter Eggs

Can you guess who these three cute little hands belong to?

Don't even dare to try and get a picture of them, they were doing important work.

Aunt Sarah was so nice to let the Smart kids go to town with Easter egg dye in her kitchen,

they all had red and blue fingers for church the next day.
