The Birthday Cake I never ate.....

One of many reasons I dislike or really HATE the little kidney stone that came upon me so quickly, is that out of all the weeks in the year it decided to come on my Birthday week. It came on a Tuesday morning at 5:30 am you would think it would have passed by Thursday which was Thanksgiving but more importantly MY BIRTHDAY. Nope it didn't pass, instead of eating a delicious Thanksgiving/Birthday dinner I was in the Emergency room with morphine pumping through my veins which I do have to say I am very thankful for morphine- even though it made me really crazy I think I would have died without it-really.
I married a very optimistic person, he was determined that by the evening of my birthday I was going to pass the stone so he worked all Thanksgiving day on this cake. I was so sad- a wildberry skittle cake and I was so nauseated that I couldn't eat it, so I saved it and by the time I was finished with the stone and surgery the cake was pretty much rotten, but my kids loved eating all the skittles off of it.
I am so glad he took a picture so I would at least remember that he tried to celebrate my Birthday. He also gave me flowers and made me cute hand ornaments from my kids hands.

Santa Pants Purse

It's funny what will bother a person when they are passing a kidney stone. As most of you know I was trying to pass a kidney stone for five long days last week. I was in the Dr's office waiting room on Saturday(the fifth day of trying to pass my stone), withering in pain, squirming in my chair with swollen eyes, frizzy hair and not a stitch of make-up, when this girl walks in with this SANTA PANTS purse. I was immediately bugged, Beetle was waiting with me and I told him I was going to tell this girl that her purse bugged me. I kept thinking how non-practical it was - only two legs with no room for a wallet, her cell phone was shoved in one leg and maybe her lip gloss in the other? She didn't have kids and so I guess she didn't have to be too practical. Also It bothered me how the purse ended at the ankles, wheres the boots? I was mainly amazed that I was so bothered by it, I just kept staring at it and then I would squirm. Stare and Squirm. Stare and Squirm. After waiting an hour in the waiting room I was called back. Thank Goodness. I think that girl was probably sick of me giving her and her purse dirty looks.
I ended up having surgery on Saturday night. The stone is gone! I am doing so much better now.

P.S.
I apologize if any of you just purchased this purse for the holidays, it's really not that bad, only if your passing a kidney stone.

Tooth Fairy

Annabelle lost another tooth yesterday. She was busy making fairy gifts to give along with her tooth. The gifts included a dress, a dinner bowl, and the tip of a pencil so the tooth fairy would write her back. This is what the Tooth Fairy left her in return......
The note written with the broken pencil point.

The Tooth Fairy also left a two dollar bill but I don't think he or she needed to, Annabelle loves the book the most. Annabelle will never doubt the Tooth Fairy again, there has been fairy talk at our house all morning!

PEACE

I can smile now, even if my cheeks do get in the way.

My cheeks are getting kissed way too much these days,

so my Mommy has to bathe me a lot.

What is Polydactyly?

This is Polydactyly when your one day old

This is Polydactyly when your three years old

Polydactyly: is a congenital physical anomaly in humans having supernumerary fingers or toes.

We finally found out the mystery behind Maxwell's nubby!
An X-ray revealed to us today that Maxwell has two toes inside his nubby. The two toes never split into two actual visible toes they just formed into this "large mass" is how the Dr. put it.
One of the toes will win out and be the main toe, the Dr. is not sure which one will win out yet so we will just wait and see. If his toe stays straight and doesn't widen we won't have to worry about surgery, so that's good. Until then Maxwell can just keep on being cute and feeling cool that he's got twenty-ONE digits!

Baptism and a Blessing

October 9th was a special day. Annabelle was baptized and confirmed and Simon was given a name and a blessing.

Thanks Uncle Patrick for these BEAUTIFUL pictures, I will love them forever and I am sure Annabelle and Simon will too!

I am so thankful for the priesthood for making becoming a member of our church possible.

I am thankful we have families that make Annabelle feel as special as she is.

I am also thankful for California cousins making a quick trip to be here for this special day. Too bad this is the best cousin picture we could get.

I am thankful for this cute little girl for making the choice to be baptized. She has looked forward to this day for a long time, thanks everyone for making it so special for her!

Three

This little guy just turned "free", he is always smiling because he pretty much gets what he wants, whenever he wants. Don't you love that little face though?

He is our little sweetie, and he is always making us laugh. Daddy is his favorite person these days, he asked for a "Twain" cake, and a twain cake is what he got. Beetle is out shining me on cake making skills lately and it's kind of bugging me. This is only his second cake he has ever made and look at it......

It is pretty awesome, and Maxwell loved it!

Max loves opening presents, he could hardly wait long enough to take this picture.

I can't wait for Christmas.

One Month

Our sweet baby boy is already One Month old!

He is starting to show us his little personality and I love it,

I love his scrunched up face when he cries,

I also love his face when he doesn't cry, and I love that he is awake more often, especially when it is daytime.
I love that when we bathe him he gets really mad, and then when we wrap him in a nice warm towel, he is happy. And I love when he looks at me like this.........

One month has gone by so fast! This last picture was only taken a couple of weeks ago and look how much he has already grown. It has been a good first month, I am so thankful Simon is healthy and continuing to grow, I am enjoying every minute with him!

Cousin Luv

Simon met cousin Henry very up close yesterday afternoon. I love the look on Simons face, only one month old and he can already predict Henry's next move.

Luckily for Simon, so can Aunt Cassie.

All for a Dollar

Beetle will do almost anything for a buck. I first learned this in our 8th grade cooking class when I watched him drink a whole bottle of peppermint extract all because some boys said they would give him a dollar or two if he did it. And he did.
The other day he was driving our van near state street and he started yelling "A DOLLAR, I SEE A DOLLAR- I'M GETTIN IT!" he immediately pulled over and slammed on the breaks, and he was out the door-gone. Cars were zooming by us, the kids were like,"Where did Dad go?"

See the guy in the blue shirt?- There's DAD!

Notice the empty hands? No Dollar. I didn't believe him when he said some guy beat him to it, but some guy really did. I am just amazed that he noticed a dollar floating around on such a busy street. This story would have been much better had he actually brought back a dollar or maybe even a hundred $'s! Notice the bank on the right? We should drive this street more frequently, maybe we will get lucky!

Big Blue

Beetle was beaming yesterday. He loves having a great excuse to wear Big Blue. This is the suit he designed himself and had made on his mission in Cebu, Philippines. He is especially proud of the BAMBOO BUTTONS ( I capitalize because they are the biggest buttons you have ever seen). He usually only wears Big Blue on special occasions like mission homecoming, baby blessings, Halloween, and now daddy daughter dates.
It was the Daddy Daughter Disco, Annabelle's first Faith in God Activity. They had a lot of fun and Annabelle was feeling so grown up wearing Aunt Rachel's dress up and bright RED lipstick.

Eight

This little one year old munchkin,

grew in to this beautiful eight year old girl,

WAY TOO FAST!!!!!!!

She is a daddy's girl, no question. Beetle would do anything for her even if that anything is decorating her dream cake until 3:00 in the morning.

Kind of funny that this is her dream cake. But this girl loves animals and she loves nature!

I am so thankful for Annabelle, she has so much life in her and is always wanting to do something fun. I am so happy she is easy going, she is always telling me "Don't worry about it Mom". Which is a good thing for me to hear!
Her brothers think she is the neatest thing that walks the planet and I do not know what I would do if I didn't have her help right now, she can entertain Benson and Maxwell so easily. She has made me realize that I have to enjoy every minute with each child, because life goes by so fast. I can't believe she will be getting baptized in just a few weeks! Happy Birthday Sweet Annabelle!
